CPA Philip Kakai is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a member of the Institute in good standing and a Certified Professional Mediator. He has over 20 years of extensive experience in Leadership, Financial Accounting and Management, Budget Management, Audit, and Project management gained from both the public and private sector.
He is currently an Assistant Director of Finance at the Judiciary in charge of Revenue and Deposits and serves in various Policy and administrative committees of the Judiciary. He previously served as an Ag. Director of Finance and an Ag. Deputy Director Accounts at the same Institution. Before joining the Judiciary in 2013, he served as the Finance Manager of Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Limited for over 8 years having risen from a Senior Accountant. He started his career as an Accountant at Parklands Sports Club and has served the Accounting profession since then.
CPA Prof. Kalunda has extensive experience in both academia and industry in the fields of accounting and finance. She is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
She is an Associate Professor at the Chandaria School of Business, United States International University-Africa. At the Institute, she has served as a council member. Her journey on the Council has been marked by active engagement in diverse committees where she has played pivotal roles. Her accomplishments include convening the Devolution Work Stream Sub-Committee, Research and Development Committee and serving as a dedicated member of committees such as Special Events, Adhoc Human Resource and Public Policy and Governance. Her steadfast commitment to the Research and Development Committee culminated in successfully launching the Institute's inaugural Research Conference in 2020, now an annual event.
Previously, she worked at the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, the Government Training Institute, and the Teachers Service Commission.
CPA Prof. Kalunda holds a B.Ed from Moi University, an MBA and a PhD from the University of Nairobi. Additionally she is a Certified Public Mediator (CPM).
CPA Prof. Kalunda exerts influence on several boards, including Lofty Corban Investments Limited, Kasneb, and the Nairobi County Audit Committee. Her involvement as a board member of Kasarani Technical and Vocational Centre, Bishop Ndingi High School in Machakos and St. Teresa's Girls Mwala, underscores her dedication to education and community development. She also maintains an active membership with the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK).
CPA Dr. Grace Kamau is a well-seasoned, all-rounded Finance, Strategy, Leadership, and Governance professional, expert, and researcher.
She has experience in impacting business direction and performance, with successful leadership strategies, tactical decision-making, and forward-thinking approaches. She is the Chief Executive Officer at ICPAK and secretary to the council.
FCPA Prof. Nicholas K. Letting’, Ph.D., EBS, HSC, is an accomplished corporate transformative leader with over 20 years of work experience, a respected academician and industry practitioner/captain, and performance management.
He is currently serving as the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB)
He represents KASNEB in the ICPAK council.
She is the Managing Partner & Chief Engagement Officer of Gemal & C0MPANY (CPA-K).
He is the Managing Partner of Bon & Drew Associates, a medium-sized audit firm with branches in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kericho, Kisumu, and Mombasa.
She is currently a Senior Internal Auditor at Egerton University.
CPA FA Jona Wala is a council member of the ICPAK council He is the Ag. Director of Accounting Services at the National Treasury and represents the Cabinet Secretary at the ICPAK Council.
CPA FA Jona Wala leads a Technical Committee in transitioning the country from a cash basis to an accrual basis of accounting.
He is currently working with the Capital Markets Authority as the Senior Manager of Commodities.
He represents Capital Markets Authority in the ICPAK council.
She chairs the Finance and Strategy Committee and she is also a member of the Member Services Committee.
She is the Head of Internal Audit at the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC). Previously, she worked at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) as a Senior Internal Auditor and at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) as a Revenue Officer.
As a Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) Graduate Fellow in Operational Risk Management (ORM), she provides capacity-building and consulting services to its 14 member countries. In 2020, I developed MEFMI’s e-learning content on “designing ORM framework for Public Debt.”She has facilitated Risk Management and Internal Control training at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS).
She has published various articles on ORM and sustainable project management with a bias towards project risk management and stakeholder engagement.
She has served as a Board Trustee at the Banki Kuu Pension Scheme from 2016 to 2021 and as the Chair of the Board Audit and Compliance Committee of the Scheme. As an active AWAK member, she has been instrumental in advancing AWAK programs, leading to an exponential growth in attendance and members’ positive feedback.
