OVERVIEW
COVID-19 has already had significant impact on global financial markets, and it may have accounting risk implications for many entities. Regulators and oversight bodies are also reminding companies to exercise their professional judgement and pay close attention to accounting standards, the financial reporting implications of COVID-19, and emerging risks. Management should carefully consider the risk impact of the COVID-19 on both interim and annual financial statements. The impact could be significant for many businesses that are faced with operational difficulties. However, entities must remember that the restrictions resulting from the virus, will also impact financial reporting requirements and increase the focus on certain areas.
