Overview

The session will cover the development of the implementation strategy and timelines for implementation of accrual accounting with a special focus on issues and strategy relating to non-current physical assets. These assets are the most material and most challenging and if not executed well can result in significant long-term costs, audit issues and misleading information. The session will also showcase success stories from overseas developing countries that highlight how best to deal with the identification, data collection, valuation and registering of non current assets.

This session will be presented by David Edgerton FCPA – who is an international expert on valuation and depreciation of public sector assets under the accounting standards and over the past few years has worked with a number of countries regarding the implementation of accrual accounting under IPSAS.
