Overview
The purpose of an audit is to enhance the degree of confidence of intended users in the financial statements. This is achieved by the expression of an opinion by the auditor on whether the financial statements are prepared in all material respects, in accordance with an applicable financial reporting framework. {ISA 200- Overall Objectives of the Independent Auditor and the Conduct of an Audit in Accordance with International Standards on Auditing}.
Cognizance therefore has to be enhanced on essential issues in auditing i.e. audit planning, execution and audit conclusion & reporting incorporating preparers, those charged with governance and users of the financial statements
In the wake of increased audit failures, ICPAK has organized a two-day workshop to address how auditors, preparers and users of financial statements can better their understanding of the critical issues in auditing. This will be through a selection of well selected topics including regaining public confidence and maintaining public trust by learning the principal activities of the Audit and Assurance
Learning Objectives
The aim of the workshop is to enlighten on the participants’ technical knowledge and professional judgement to identify, explain and evaluate alternatives and to determine the appropriate solutions to compliance issues, giving due consideration to the needs of clients and users. Ethical issues will also be considered in making such judgments.

The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
