1.0 Background
Four years ago, the Institute identified a capacity development gap among C-Suit executives of most organizations in Kenya. A survey carried by the Institute revealed that C-Suite executives needed capacity support to enable them deliver 360 degrees value to their organizations, themselves, families and global community. It is against this backdrop that the C-Suite Seminar was born with a sole aim of taking each executive to the next level of his career through honing their leadership skills. With a program that not only focuses on enlightening delegates on what is lying ahead of them and what they should do in order to reap maximum benefits in any untapped opportunities ahead, the C-Suite Seminar also aims at exposing executives through benchmarking in order to develop them to truly global leaders.
A destination that has a lot to learn from and an inspiration story like Dubai serves the aim of the seminar best. Dubai has emerged as one of the world’s leading international business centers and regional hubs. The debate on whether “To Lead by Influence or to Drive by Compulsion” or how to balance in between forms the basis of this year’s C-Suite Seminar. Business success stories in Dubai reflect a long tradition of entrepreneurs capitalizing on new sources of economic growth in construction, education and consumer goods. For over 50 years emirate’s entrepreneurs have grasped the opportunities offered by economic growth. Despite the dramatic transformation of Dubai over that half century, the interplay between growth and opportunity has not changed. What lessons can other countries pick from this thriving economy? What Opportunities does Dubai as an economy offer to the progressive C-Level Executive? How about opportunities for business development for your organization?
- Talent Management for competitive advantage: trends & prospects
Now more than ever, it is imperative that organizations manage people well. In today’s information economy, people’s knowledge, skills, and relationships are an organization’s biggest asset and main source of competitive advantage. What are the trends and prospects? Managers must acknowledge their role in shaping organizational ethics and seize this opportunity to create a climate that can strengthen the relationships and reputations on which their companies’ success depends. Executives who ignore ethics run the risk of personal and corporate liability in today’s increasingly tough legal environment. This session will assess some of the outstanding legal and ethical issues today and connect them to expected conduct of the executive today into the future.
- Corporate etiquette
As executives, we must recognize that part of the image of the organization is the image of the employees. Employees are essentially an extension of the physical evidence and brand of the company. Apart from having great products and services; corporate employees’ image must be effectively communicated. How does the organization attain a professional image and polished style through the team leaders who continually interphase with the external world on behalf of the organization?
- Blue ocean strategy: a practical view and success cases
The only way to beat the competition is to stop trying to beat the competition. In red oceans, the industry boundaries are defined and accepted, and the competitive rules of the game are known. In blue oceans, competition is irrelevant because the rules of the game are waiting to be set. How will the organization shift the strategy canvas of an industry to begin reorienting their strategic focus from competitors to alternatives, and from customers to non-customers of an industry?

Kenyans require a tourist visa to visit Dubai. In applying for the VISA, you will need an invitation letter from ICPAK and hotel accommodation. We always encourage applicants to indicate past international events of ICPAK that they have attended. The Institute has made arrangements with Global Visa Services Ltd to assist you process your visa efficiently, but this needs your cooperation and requires that your start you plan early.
