INTRODUCTION
Although growth has slowed, the accounting profession is becoming more diverse as more companies increase their recruiting and promotion of lady accountants into leadership positions. Even though they are still underrepresented in some fields, women have demonstrated their ability to be great change agents. Currently, widespread acceptance of the far-reaching advantages of gender parity and diversity in leadership and decision-making is growing. The growth of inclusivity, effective representation, and tolerance of opposing viewpoints depends on the leadership and decision-making of women at all levels.
By challenging the status quo, women can now have a greater influence, contribute to the boards on which they sit, serve as role models, and change views. The modern woman seeks to live a happy life and has steadily advanced in her career by merging her personal and professional lives. Given the right environment, support, and equity in several areas, the modern woman is destined to accomplish much more, even when given responsibility for big duties.
Gender mainstreaming means integrating a gender equality perspective at all stages and levels of policies, programmes and projects. Women and men have different needs and living conditions and circumstances, including unequal access to and control over power, resources, human rights and institutions, including the justice system. The situations of women and men also differ according to country, region, age, ethnic or social origin, or other factors. The aim of gender mainstreaming is to take into account these differences when designing, implementing and evaluating policies, programmes and projects, so that they benefit both women and men and do not increase inequality but enhance gender equality. Gender mainstreaming aims to solve –sometimes hidden- gender inequalities. It is therefore a tool for achieving gender equality.
World over, successful networking goes beyond just connecting with lots of people: it’s about building a community to share ideas, help solve problems, and to create opportunities for one another.
