THE 7TH ICPAK PUBLIC LECTURE ON ETHICS AND ANTI-CORRUPTION
Corruption is an intricate socio-economic and political and economic phenomenon that affects many countries. It weakens democratic institutions, increases the cost of doing business, slows economic development and contributes to governmental instability. In Kenya, it is approximated that the government loses one third of the national budget to corruption.
The United Nations Resolution No. 58/4 of October 31, 2003 declared December 9th the International Anti-Corruption Day (IAC). The Assembly designated this day, to raise awareness on corruption and the role of the Convention in combating and preventing it.
To commemorate this day, the Institute of Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in partnership with KCA University, School of Business, Transparency International Kenya (TI-K) and African Parliamentarian’s Network Against Corruption (APNAC) has organized the 7th Annual Public Lecture on Ethics and Anti-Corruption to be held on Wednesday 7th December at the KCA University, Auditorium, starting at 2:00pm- 5:00pm.
The Public Lecture is themed, “United against Corruption for Sustainable Development.”
This is to invite interested members to register in advance to participate. Participants will earn 2 CPD hours.
