Over 800 of our members have emigrated and are working beyond the borders of Kenya. Members of the Institute are present in 41 different countries around the globe.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) has a mandate bestowed upon it by the Accountants Act No.15 of 2008 – Laws of Kenya, to develop and regulate accountancy in Kenya. Additionally, as a member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), ICPAK has more responsibilities as outlined in various International Education Standards (IESs) for professional accountants and Statement of Member Obligations (SMOs) in maintaining lifelong learning among professional accountants.

The Executive Seminar is an annual congregation of senior executives, now in its 30th year, who meet to discuss salient issues affecting leadership in organizations while charting a way forward. The seminar also provides an ample opportunity for top executives to meet and network with peers and captains of industries while learning from leading practice from the destination of choice.

OVERVIEW

There is amazing untapped power in and around our organizations: the power that comes from people working together to accomplish inspired set objectives. The power is in the employees, the power is in the shareholders, the power is in the customers and the public. A leader who cannot tap the power will experience the corresponding frustration that comes from being part of, or leading, an organization that is not reaching that potential. The power of the people within and without the organization holds the future of the organization. A successful leader is the one who has identified this power and learned how to leverage on it. A leader whose actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more as John Quincy Adams put it.

Today’s global, linked world requires senior leaders who are uniquely alert to the economic currents and market movements that could advance—or undermine—their firm’s long-term viability. As a top executive, you establish your legacy by laying out your company’s future, outlining its strategy, and nurturing a culture founded on clear objectives and a common mission. Organizations face different sets of social, economic, and political variables that present unique challenges to business as well as fascinating potential. To achieve a competitive advantage, organizations require exceptional, confident leaders who understand what it takes to conduct business in today’s digital age.

Gaining proficiency in creating and implementing winning strategies, providing creative solutions, developing high-achieving teams, and managing swift changes will prepare you to support your organization’s expansion into dynamic markets. In light of this, ICPAK will hold a one-week Executive Seminar in Singapore themed: People Centric Leadership, with an aim of bringing together senior corporate and public sector executives and upcoming leaders for a forthright discussion on matters touching on effective executive leadership. The seminar discussions will focus on:

  1. Building Your Leadership Philosophy
  2. Leadership Readiness – Essential Skills and Attributes that Leaders Must Posses
  3. Leading Disruptive Change and Corporate Innovation
  4. Book Review – The Crux: How Leaders Become Strategists by Richard P. Rumelt
  5. The Digital Transformation Agenda for Executives: Our Role
  6. Leading by Mentoring as a Succession Planning Strategy
  7. Entrenching Data Analytics into Organizational Practices and Decision Making – Gaining a Competitive Edge from Within.
  8. The Leaders of the Future – Insights for Top Executives
  9. Sustainability Reporting Agenda – How top executives can drive initiatives.
  10. Leading Geographically Dispersed Team Members
  11. Fostering a Positive Organizational Culture and Using the Cultural Web – Little Things that Count.
