THE INAUGURAL REGIONAL ACCOUNTANTS CONVENTION

1.0 OVERVIEW
Professional Accountants operate in a continually dynamic and challenging work environment. The current and future demands on professionals both from clients and regulatory authorities call for a rethinking and re strategizing of the way things are done. These demands have created a fluid operating environment in which the only constant is change. Challenges such as the ever-increasing requirements on financial management and reporting, audit approach and methodology, information technology, big data, environmental sustainability, professional ethics and the impact of those charged with governance all impinge on the work, character and profile of today’s accountant.
To remain relevant and assist organizations leapfrog ahead of competition, the CPA today must confront both individually and collectively challenges to the profession. The Inaugural Regional Professionals convention is an effort by professional bodies in the East African Region to combine plans and synergize in empowering professionals to command a leadership role in their respective organizations. By use of experienced experts, the convention will focus on the following;

2.0 TARGET AUDIENCE
This Convention will be most beneficial to delegates drawn from both the public and private sectors. This convention is not limited to the accountancy profession only, staff from other units are highly encouraged to attend. Further, we invite professionals in EAC, COMESA, SADC, among other regions in Africa.

5.0 TRAVEL INFORMATION – (VERY IMPORTANT)
Delegates are requested to check with their respective Embassies/High Commissions for their travel requirements. We shall however assist on letters of invitation or any other confirmations that may be needed to facilitate issuance of VISAs and/or travel documents.
6.0 DRESS CODE
- Men – Business Casual
- Women – Please note you will not be allowed to wear any form of trousers and/or short fitting skirts while in Tanzania. You are advise to carry official dresses and skirts – knee length. No sleeveless blouses allowed in Tanzania as well.

8.0 National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement for Kenyan Delegates
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Kenyan participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations. Remember that to qualify you should apply to NITA for approval prior to the date of the conference.
