THE FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR CONFERENCE
14th – 16th JUNE 2017
KENYA SCHOOL OF MONETARY STUDIES (Thika Road)
Theme: Sound Financial Services Sector for Economic Growth
Overview
Financial services is one of the key sectors factored within the economic pillar of Kenya Vision 2030. Kenya’s financial system is relatively well developed and sound. The major elements of a well-developed financial system have been put in place, including the creation of the first credit-reference bureau in 2010, and credit has grown rapidly in recent years, but the financial sector has still been unable to reach its full potential in supporting the allocation of economic resources across the economy. It is in this light that ICPAK has organized the Conference to focus on:
- Recent Developments and the Role of Kenya’s Financial Ecosystem in National Growth and Development
- Unclaimed Financial Assets Act- Progress, Challenges and the Role of Accounting Professionals
- Impact of Capping of Interest Rates: Lessons from Academia
- Financial Services Sector Fraud: A New Approach to Risk Management and Corporate Governance
- Enhancement of IPO Listing in the Region
- Technology as an Edge in the Financial Services Sector: Risks Vs Rewards
- Impact of IFRS 9 on the Financial Services Sector
- Foundations of Mediation
Target Audience:
Accountants, Professionals working in Saccos, Banking Sector, Insurance sector, Investment Funds, Financial Services Regulators, Academia and other stakeholders in the Financial Services Sector
