Overview
Supporting mental health in the workplace is no longer a nice-to-have but a necessity, as even in a workplace with a strong culture of health, mental health problems will inevitably arise.
Many aspects of the workplace require alertness, accurate and quick reflexes. An impairment to these qualities can cause incidents and interfere with the accuracy and efficiency of work.
Without effective support, mental disorders and other mental health conditions can affect a person’s confidence and identity at work, capacity to work productively, absences and the ease with which to retain or gain work.
