OVERVIEW

Evolving business demands and the dynamic global trends call for continued accurate monitoring and reporting of business performance.  These developments coupled with the rapid changes in the standard setting environment have created many challenges to preparers and users of financial statements. The post covid-19 pandemic period has equally created more complexity due to the uncertainties created across businesses because of the impact of the pandemic on businesses.

This has resulted to various entities in business looking for new ways of conducting business because of the disruptions and the unprecedented approach towards business operations. This has equally impacted the way transactions are recorded and reported in the annual reports and financial statements.

Despite all these realignments, the need for high-quality and reliable financial reports cannot be over-emphasized.  ICPAK aims to improve the quality of general-purpose financial reporting by organization across all sectors of the economy to ensure that there is better informed assessments of resource allocation and utilization decisions, thereby enhancing transparency and accountability.

The two-day IFRS seminar has been carefully tailored to meet the financial reporting requirements in view of the recent and current developments in corporate reporting under the IFRS framework.  The Branch seminar will give the participants an opportunity to learn some of the latest developments in financial reporting and get details on the existing reporting standards.

Additionally, the course will explore the impact of non-financial reporting for businesses and treatment of various accounting and financial transactions.

The seminar sessions will also capture a review of the disclosure requirements for the various standards, which our specialist facilitators will provide guidance on the necessary requirements.

The seminar will focus on the following areas:

  1. IAS 1 – Preparation and presentation of financial statements and recent amendments
  2. IFRS 13 – Fair Value Measurement
  • IAS 8 – Accounting policies, changes in accounting estimates and Errors
  1. IFRS 3 – Business combinations
  2. IFRS 15 – Revenue from contracts with Customers
  3. IFRS 16 – Leases

Practical illustrations and interactive discussions will be used during the presentations.
