OVERVIEW
The objective of IFRS 10 Consolidated financial statements is to outline the requirements for the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements when an entity controls one or more entities. It was issued in May 2011 and applies to annual periods beginning on or after 1st January 2013. Control requires exposure or rights to variable returns and the ability to affect those returns through power over an investee.
To guide the discussion during the Webinar, the following areas will form the focus of this virtual event: –

- Establishing control as the basis for consolidation
- Disclosure considerations
- Exemptions from the consolidation requirements
