THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(Established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)
The Coast Branch Forensic Audit Practical Skills Workshop
Theme: Combating Fraud in the Digital Age
Date: September 2021
City Blue Hotel, Mombasa
OVERVIEW
World over, organizations are constantly facing the risk of financial loss owing to fraud. The advent of the pandemic has exacerbated the situation with existing loopholes being exploited. Major scandals, spectacular losses and in other instances, corporate collapses become a regular business news item when fraud happens. To mitigate the risk of fraud, business owners, company directors and regulators now have a laser focus on corporate governance practices, risk management strategies and ethical business behaviour at the workplace.
However, despite fraud being one the largest unmanaged risks in companies today, many employees still receive virtually no formal training in how to identify the red flags, deal with them and most importantly how to become more resistant to all forms of unethical business behavior, including fraud and corruption.
It is against this backdrop that ICPAK has organized the Coast Branch Forensic Audit Practical Skills Workshop to focus on:
The Modern-Day fraudster: Trends to Watch Out
Conducting Forensic Investigations – A practical Approach
Dealing with Contract and Procurement Fraud
Technology and Vulnerability to Cyber Attacks: Mitigation Measures
Using Data Analytics to Detect Fraud
Embedding a Proactive Fraud Detection and Management Process at the Workplace
Digital Forensic Investigations and Data Privacy: Overcoming the Challenge
Compiling a Forensic Investigation Report: Dos and Don’ts
