13th – 14th October, Kericho
Introduction
Co-operative Societies play a great role in the economy by creating the opportunity for people to take control of their own financial affairs. The SACCO sub-sector, a part of the larger cooperative movement in Kenya has seen commendable growth and change in the recent years than other co-operatives. In order to enforce transparency and accountability, SACCOs in Kenya are exposed to various legal and professional compliance requirements. All the players in this sector must clearly understand the financial reporting requirements according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and the regulatory requirements from SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA).
