THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(Established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)
INAUGURAL PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT SEMINAR FOR MILLENNIALS
Date: 29 November – 1 December 2017
Venue: Merica Hotel – Nakuru
Theme “Empowered to Lead and Transform the Workplace”
Overview
Over the years, organizational researchers and business leaders have focused increasing attention on empowerment in the workplace. Nonetheless, this notion of employee empowerment is rather limited. Research findings indicate that key empowerment outcomes include motivation, job satisfaction and stress; and less focus has been put on interpersonal outcomes such as leadership behaviour. To make an impact, millennials need to be innovative, upwardly influencing, inspirational to staff and less focused on maintaining status quo.
Themed “Empowered to Lead and Transform the Workplace,” this seminar will focus on change oriented leadership. Global industry experts have projected major transformations in the coming years. The most significant of this is expected to be competition between established and emerging economies. Bringing this home, we already have challenges in the use of technology, human capital, finance and markets, energy, among other variables. Organizations sink, new ones emerge. New talent emerges while the old is phased out; and sometimes, abruptly. As a millennial, where will these changes leave you and your organization?
ICPAK has arranged for facilitation of this inaugural millennial seminar with all intention to equip this special group of talent with knowledge, skills and exposure needed for organization adaptation in these changing times. The seminar provides a perfect opportunity for you to be part of a symbiotic learning and sharing environment.
Thematic areas include and are not limited to:
- The Millennial CEO: Perspectives and Projections
- Managing Transitions; Misconceptions about Millennials and Bridging the Gaps
- Planning and Navigating the Career Journey: Loyalty Vs Development
- Workplace Culture: Adaptation Strategies
- Etiquette, Branding & Public Speaking for Millennials
- Mentorship for Millennials; Our Role
- Retirement Planning: Beyond Today
