Emerging Issues in Tax – Mombasa
Date: 10th – 11th May, 2018
Venue: Sunrise Resort Apartments and Spa, Nyali, Mombasa
Introduction
Proactive management of tax obligations and compliance with legal requirements is a necessary component of successful financial management for the modern day organization. Gone are the days when professionals would react to the taxman’s demands rather than being pre-emptive to create and execute a tax strategy. With a multitude of dynamic laws and regulations governing tax in the country and region, successful tax planning is no mean feat.
Tax reforms, modernization of tax systems and the ever rising collection targets only add on to the challenges organizations face regarding taxes. In the recent past, e-filing has become a reality in Kenya, albeit with numerous challenges. This brought on an onslaught of stringent, onerous reporting requirements that have seen several organizations subjected to fines due to failure to comply.
Conscious of the situation, ICPAK has organized a two day workshop to equip professionals engaged in tax matters with the requisite knowledge and skills to tactfully plan for and execute strategies that strengthen their firm’s bottom line. Updates on emerging issues will be exhaustively discussed through the topics below:
- Alternative Tax Dispute Resolution
- KRA Audits
- Customs and international trade
- The future of Taxation in Kenya
- Developments in international tax focusing on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting
Target Audience
Audit and tax practitioners, Personnel handling tax issues in organizations, Representatives from KRA, Tax Payer’s associations, Chief Finance officers, Academia
