THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(Established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)

CFOs Forum
Date: 6th October 2022
Venue: Virtual
Time: 04.00am-06.00pm

OVERVIEW

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) role is a critical function in any organisation. The CFO plays a key strategic part in positioning the organisation for growth and future sustainability.  In line with these responsibilities, it has been reported by CFOs that both the scale and pace of decision-making are vastly different than they were for their predecessors.  This has been necessitated by the ever changing and dynamic business environment.

The current business environment has seen increasingly frequent cases of fraud and misappropriation of resources, both in the private and the public sectors.  This calls for increased vigilance and effective controls to guard against the theft and misuse of organizational assets.

It is against this backdrop that the Institute has organized a forum for the CFOs to meet and discuss how to put in place the requisite strategies to ensure strong internal controls and business sustainability and continuity.

  1. Enhancing governance processes for desired financial performance levels
  2. Sustainability, working capital and liquidity management for organisations
  3. Effective financial leadership and control in a digital environment
  4. Segregation of duties and approval controls and matrices
