OVERVIEW
High-quality performance by professional accountants benefits the economy and society by users of audited financial statements placing a lot of reliance on the information contained in the financial reports for purposes of decision making. The need for high-quality, accurate, and reliable financial reports continues to be of great relevance all the time. The Institute aims at ensuring that the accuracy of these reports is maintained for all the sectors of the economy to enable enhanced confidence of the different categories of users.
In compliance with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Statements of Membership Obligations (SMOs), the Institute undertakes its regulatory mandate and oversight of the audit firms in the Kenyan market to ensure adherence to audit quality requirements by the firms which it regulates. However, the audit practice continues to face challenges arising from either the expectation gap or the perception about quality of audit work. It is against this background that the Institute has organized a two day Audit Quality Assurance workshop to promote awareness and understanding of the ISAs and the IAASB newly released series of ISA modules. The workshop will cover the following topical areas;
- New and Upcoming Standards; IFRS & ISAs
- ISA 540 –Auditing Accounting estimates
- Audit Documentations and Evidence
- International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM 1 & ISQM2)
- ISA 220 – Quality Control for an audit of financial statements
- Identifying, Assessing and Reporting on Going Concern issues
- International Standards on Assurance Engagements (ISAEs)
- Performing Risk Assessment Procedures
- Emerging issues on Ethics, Audit Risk and Reporting

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNITS (CPD UNITS):
Members of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 10 Structured CPD Units upon successfully completion of the Webinar.

The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
