ACCOUNTANCY PROFESSIONAL ETHICS FORUM (MANDATORY TRAINING)
Date: 12th to 16th June 2023

(This is one of the mandatory trainings for practicing certificate consideration)

OVERVIEW

Ethics is a branch of philosophy that studies the difference between right and wrong. Professional Accountants are regularly confronted with ethical choices and moral dilemmas in the course of their professional activities. This means that as a professional you owe the public a certain level of integrity and objectivity – as well as professional competence and due care, confidentiality, and professional behavior. Professionals are required to practice reasonable, responsible, and transparent behavior that consciously avoids harmful actions by embodying high ethical standards.

All of us have opportunities to choose between right and wrong every day, we see in the business press, getting it wrong can lead to serious consequences, including corporate failure, loss of reputation, fines or even jail sentences. As a professional, one should consider the principles of their professional body, which forms the basis of professional ethics.

Consequently, even the properly regulated professional organizations globally develop a set of ethical standards which their members are expected to abide by. This is because of the underlying consideration that all professions raise ethical issues, so the need for professional ethics and their practical application for their members who are in practice.

It is against this backdrop that the Institute has organized a five-day physical Professional Forum to explore the ethical considerations which are applicable in the workplace and as expected professionally. The following topical areas will be covered.

Financial Commitment:

1. Associate Members Ksh 54,000 per delegate
2. ICPAK/ACCA Members Ksh 59,000 per delegate
3. Non-Member Ksh64,000 per delegate

 The cost caters for training fee, training materials, certificate and meals during the conference. Please note that delegates are required to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

Target Audience:

This seminar will be most beneficial to delegates drawn from both the public and private sectors, and particularly young professionals. This seminar is not limited to the accountancy profession only. Staff from other professions are highly encouraged to attend.

Continuous Professional Development Units (CPDs).

Members of ICPAK and those from reciprocating professional bodies will earn 20 Structured CPD points upon successfully attending all learning sessions.

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement

The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations. Remember that to qualify you should apply to NITA for approval prior to the date of the conference. Further details can be obtained from their website (www.nita.go.ke).
