NOMINATION OF EIGHT (8) REPRESENTATIVES TO THE ICIFA INVESTMENT PERFORMANCE AND ESG REPORTING STANDARDS (IPERS) TASKFORCE

ICIFA is the professional Investment and Financial Analysts’ body mandated by law to regulate the Investment and Financial Analysis profession in Kenya, being the only body authorized by law to register and grant practicing certificates to Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFAs) in Kenya both in private and public practice under the Investment and Financial Analysts Act (No.13 of 2015).

In executing its core mandate of developing investment performance reporting standards applicable to Kenyan financial markets, the Council of ICIFA in 2020 established a Taskforce to review and discuss performance and ESG Reporting Standards that can improve accountability and transparency in investment performance reports in the financial services sector. In this regard, ICIFA seeks to establish working groups for the eight (8) identified sectors.

This is a call to members fitting the roles to apply for consideration and nomination by the Institute in any of the below sectors:

  • Securities Exchange
  • Pension Fund
  • Insurance
  • Capital Markets
  • SACCOs
  • Private Equity
  • Banking Industry
  • Private Sector

  • Be a member of the Institute in good standing.
  • Possesses relevant academic qualifications in Finance/Accounting.
  • Board and Corporate Governance experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in senior management position in Finance

NOMINATIONS OF AN INDEPENDENT BOARD MEMBER, KENYA NETWORK INFORMATION CENTRE (KeNIC)

Kenya Network Information Centre (KeNIC) is charged with the management and administration of the .KE domain, Kenya’s Country Code Top Level Domain. KeNIC’s mandate is to provide corporates, businesses and individuals with the opportunity to have an online presence, professional development and websites on the .KE platform. The Company has been instrumental in facilitating the growth and uptake of the Internet sub-sect ICT in Kenya.

In line with its mission of harnessing the full potential of internet and enhancing the upscaling of technological transformation in Kenya, the Board hereby invites the Institute to nominate suitable female nominees who have accounting and finance knowledge/skills to join the Board as an Independent Director.

NOMINATIONS TO THE AUDIT, RISK & GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE, NAIROBI CITY WATER AND SEWERAGE COMPANY

Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) was incorporated in December 2003 under the Companies Act cap 486 and mandated to provide clean water and sewerage services to the residents of Nairobi City County, in a financially sustainable manner and within Government regulations.

The Company has continued to enhance service provision by aligning itself to the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and other attendant laws and regulations that safeguard human rights within the realms of sustainable development goals.  In this regard, the Institute has been called to nominate its representative to the Audit, Risk & Governance Committee to spearhead the oversight of the institution’s control, governance and risk management.

NOMINATIONS TO THE KENYA INSTITUTE OF SUPPLIES MANAGEMENT DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

The Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) is established under Section 3(1) of the Supplies Practitioners Management Act, 2007 (the SPMA) to inter alia, register, licence all supplies practitioners in Kenya and to regulate their practice alongside establishing, monitoring, improving and publishing the standards of the supplies practitioner’s profession as well as safeguard the interest of all supply’s practitioners.

The Supplies Practitioners Management Act, 2007 provides under section 22(1)(g) as follows,

  • There is hereby established a committee of the Council, to be known as the Disciplinary Committee, which shall consist of eight members, of whom (a) one accountant nominated by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya
