DATE: 5th April 2017
VENUE: Meridian Hotel,Nairobi.
TIME: 8am to 5pm
As long as organizations exist, Accountants will always be in demand. However, with the complexities that come with the dynamic environment in which we live in, the accounting field has faced changes in Accounting policies, Tax rules and business systems. Accountants must therefore, keep abreast with these changes to remain competitive. In keeping up with this hectic, ever changing professional life, it is prudent for Accountants to consciously create a work – life balance. This is the concept of properly prioritizing aspects of work and lifestyle.
It is in this regard that the Institute has organized an Associate Members’ Forum aimed at addressing the following topics;
- The digital accountant; keeping with complex changes in the Accounting Profession
Digital accounting services is now accessed at any time, from anywhere and on any device; pressure is now on the finance professional to keep up with the market demands. This has enabled targeted customer segments, cost structures and revenue streams; with the digital age increasing pressure on accountants to respond to clients instantaneously.
- Accountants Professional ethics
If finance professionals don’t act in line with laws, tax rules and accounting standards, how can business and society at large put their trust in financial statements or tax returns. There is an increasing demand for accountants to be more ethical and observe standards of practice. Many times, circumstances in which professional accountants operate may give rise to specific threats to compliance with the fundamental principles.
- Work-life Balance
Spending time with family, prioritizing personal goals and managing stress and fatigue continues to be a struggle for financial professionals. Accountants are prone to work a lot of hours. Greater business competences and internal cohesion is needed to help win back more personal time.
