Theme: Understanding and Applying the Principles

Overview

An efficient and effective tax system guided by relevant principles leads to an optimum tax system. ICPAK has organized a one day workshop to provide a platform on which tax practitioners, consultants and academicians will interactively engage and discuss key principles relating to personal and business taxation and their application alongside related emerging issues in Kenya. This workshop is designed to provide participants with the essentials of taxation and also give an intensive study of the current tax laws and regulations governing individuals, corporations and businesses and changes that are affecting these entities. It is designed for, tax accountants, persons with tax experience who assist taxpayers in preparing and filing income tax returns and tax consultants. Areas to be addressed will be on income tax, capital gains tax and corporation tax, VAT, tax planning schemes and related emerging issues.

Objectives

By the end of the workshop delegates will have achieved the following objectives:

1. Appreciate the principles related to personal and business taxation
2. Understand the application of VAT principles in corporate transactions
3. Appreciate and apply tax planning schemes.
4. Understand the emerging issues in taxation.

The seminar will be held on Friday, 22^nd January 2016 at Hilton Hotel, Nairobi from 8.30am-5.00pm. Charges are Kshs. 7, 950 and Kshs. 13, 950 for ICPAK members and non members respectively. Bookings after 20^th January will be Kshs. 8, 950 and Kshs. 14, 950 for ICPAK members and non members respectively.  7 CPD Hours will be awarded to members in attendance.
