Theme: Realizing Compliance in SME Financial Reporting
Overview
The need to apply a common set of high quality, understandable and transparent accounting standards for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) cannot be. Large firms as well as SMEs have realized that efficient financial reporting hinged on the strong foundation of International Financial Reporting is the sure way of attaining financial transparency and stakeholders’ confidence. By complying with the International Financial Reporting Standards for SMEs (IFRS for SMEs) firms can gain unprecedented growth generated from reporting transparency and efficiency. It is for this reason that ICPAK has organized a 2-day workshop with a view to develop a strong platform for the SMEs transparent and efficient financial reporting culture that supports credible financial information for reliance by investors and other stakeholders. This workshop, facilitated by seasoned facilitators will give in-depth knowledge on IFRS for SMEs with a bias to those standards that hold great importance in the context of Kenya.
After the end of the workshop delegates will achieve the following objectives;
a) Gain a deeper understanding of the IFRS for SMEs with special emphasis on financial statement presentation, Income tax, Related Party Disclosures and Employee benefits
b) Understand key requirements of financial statement presentation for SMEs
c) Discuss practical and emerging tax matters
Target Audience: Accountants with start-up businesses, Business people, academia, consultants,Auditors of SMEs, Financiers of SMEs (Banks, SACCOs) and Representatives from regulatory bodies (NSE SME sector).
Charges: Kshs. 12,950 and Kshs. 22, 950 for ICPAK members and non members respectively.
