Forensic Audit Practical Skills Workshop – Central Rift Branch
Theme: Dealing with digital era fraud
Date: 18th to 19th July 2024
Time: 09.00am -3.30pm
Venue: Nakuru, To Be Confirmed
OVERVIEW
In the recent past companies have collapsed from uncalled for losses and major financial scandals causing great challenges from company directors and regulators on corporate governance. Risk management strategies have failed, and there is widespread existence of unethical business behavior, fraud, and corruption. Most common scandals faced by organizations include, false payments, fraudulent loans, leasing fraud, deliberate overcharging, fake invoices, bribery, kickbacks, false rebates and warranty claims, conflicts of interests, false reporting and much more. Financial Managers, financial controllers, Internal and external auditors are finding it difficult to argue it is not their responsibility to find fraud.
Despite fraud being one of the largest unmanaged risks in companies today, many employees have no formal training on how to identify the red flags, how to deal with them and more importantly how to become more resistant to all forms of unethical business behavior, including fraud and corruption.
It is against this backdrop that ICPAK has organized the 2days Workshop to focus on:
- The Modern-Day fraudster: Trends to Watch Out
- Conducting Forensic Investigations – A practical Approach
- Dealing with Contract and Procurement Fraud
- Technology and Vulnerability to Cyber Attacks: Mitigation Measures
- Using Data Analytics to Detect Fraud
- Embedding a Proactive Fraud Detection and Management Process at the Workplace

- Compiling a Forensic Investigation Report: Dos and Don’ts
