OVERVIEW
CFOs are charged with the responsibility of ensuring optimal strategic planning and business model re-engineering processes are carried out during and post the pandemic and thus it is very important for them to deeply understand how to navigate the risk -return hurdle when advising the business on critical business decisions and how to set smart targets and ensure their accomplishment.
The CFO role is a critical function in any organization. The CFO plays a key strategic part in positioning the organization for growth and future sustainability. In line with these responsibilities, it has been reported by CFOs that both the scale and pace of decision-making are vastly different than they were for their predecessors. This has been necessitated by the ever changing and dynamic business environment.
Frequent data breaches and cyber security attacks have left organizations exposed to both Financial and Reputational risks that require a unified cyber-attack aversion approach by management and the board. While growth and cost management remain a key priority for most organizations there is an overarching concern over the need to place technology enablement in the priority list with the realization that decisions in the new age of a digital workplace will be data driven.
It is against this backdrop that the Institute has organized a forum for the CFOs to meet and discuss how to put in place the requisite strategies to ensure risk management and sustainability for the businesses they oversee.
The Forum discussions will focus on some of the challenges faced by CFOs namely:
- Effects of the global economy from the changing tax landscape
- Retirement and pension risk- What this means for CFOs
- Finance talent and finance transformation: CFOs as sponsors and leaders
- Capital Adequacy Risk- The challenge for CFOs
- Sustainability Reporting- Accounting for carbon credits
- CFOs’ image and personal branding
Continuous Professional Development Units (CPD Units):
Members of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 5 CPD Units upon successfully attending and participating in the forum

Chief Finance Officers, Finance Directors and Finance Managers
Cost:
Charges for the forum will be Kes7,000/= which will cover fees, and an e-certificate of attendance.

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement:
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
