OVERVIEW
The growth of information technology and adoption of Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) has led to transformation of offering government business against the backdrop of Public Finance Management (PFM) reforms. IFMIS has been promoted as a core component and driver of public financial and public procurement reforms in Kenya. The goal for implementing IFMIS was to promote efficiency, effectiveness improved outcomes in the financial management process. More specifically, IFMIS was geared towards achieving better fiscal management, optimal resource allocation, improved management of resources, reduced fraud & corruption, improved transparency & accountability, and lower transaction costs. The Kenyan Government has embraced the use of IFMIS to execute effective financial management in the various Government Ministries and Public Institutions.
The Institute has organized this open forum to enable stakeholders in the public and private sector to engage and get more understanding of IFMIS as well as address user enquiries that may have arisen from the use of the system.
