THEME: NPO SECTOR COMPLIANCE FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY
DATE: 1ST -5TH AUGUST 2022

OVERVIEW

The Institute aims to improve the quality of general-purpose financial reporting by all not-for-profit organizations to ensure that there is better informed assessments of resource allocation and utilization decisions, thereby enhancing transparency and accountability. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) or Not for Profit Organizations as they are commonly known are organizations are known to support and act on various causes. These causes differ based on the focus areas NGOs have. The likelihood of NGOs having the same focus area may be high, but their mission and vision, alongside their reasons for operating, will differ. Generally, NGOs are focused on giving aid and support for further development, regardless of the themes set out. However, they face several challenges and risks which they are not always prepared for hence the need to plan on how to manage the various risks which may be encountered.

The NPO Conference will be a peer-driven educational and learning forum centered on key themes addressing the current and future challenges and opportunities in managing donor funded programs. The conference aims to equip participants with current trends in financial management, grants management, regulation, accounting, risk and leadership. Delegates will learn and share experiences with thought leaders in the NPO space in Kenya and in the region.

This virtual yet highly interactive seminar will give the participants an opportunity to learn some of the latest development in financial reporting and get details on the new reporting standards under the different financial reporting frameworks that are relevant to the NPO sector and grants management.
