Preparing for Internal Audit Quality Assurance – Recording
Theme: Towards continuous improvement of Internal Audit functions
Date:22nd – 23rd June 2022
Time: 08.30am-3.30pm
Venue: Virtual Symposium
OVERVIEW
A Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) enables an evaluation of the internal audit activity’s conformance with the definition of Internal Auditing and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) and an evaluation of whether internal auditors apply the Code of Ethics. All internal audit activities, regardless of industry, sector, or size of audit staff — even those outsourced or co-sourced — must maintain a QAIP that contains both internal and external assessments.
External assessments enhance value, as they enable the internal audit activity to evaluate conformance with the Standards; internal audit and audit committee charters; the organization’s risk and control assessment; the effective use of resources; and the use of successful practices. An internal audit activity must obtain an external assessment at least every five years by an independent reviewer or review team to maintain conformance with the Standards. It is in this regard that the Institute has organized for a two days workshop on “Preparing for Internal Audit Quality Assurance”
The seminar will cover the following topical areas;
1. Standard 1300 IPPF: Quality Assurance and Improvement Program- Definition of the requirements for a Quality Assurance Improvement Program
2. Standard 1310: Requirements of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program
3. Standard 1311: Internal Control Assessments
4. Standard 1312: Link to External Assessments
5. Ethical Consideration in Internal Audit Quality Review Engagements
6. Impact of Technology and Digital Transformation on Internal Audit Process
7.Remote working and impact on the quality of Internal audit functions and processes
9. Challenges faced in implementing an effective QAIP as per the standards
