OVERVIEW
Due to continuous technological advancements, nearly everything we come across is entrenched within technology. Information Technology is crucial in maintaining a competitive edge, managing risks, and achieving business objectives; and entities are allocating huge resources to technological projects. By using technology to implement fraud prevention companies can reduce the time it takes to detect fraud, hence reducing the cost of fraud.
As technology is advancing, so are the potentials of committing fraud. Technological advancements present opportunities for both fraudsters and those trying to stop fraudulent activities. Technology is a tool that can help prevent and detect fraud however the reliance on automated tools provides new challenges in the prevention of fraud. Technology can enable fraudsters to commit and conceal fraud activities. Emerging technologies in today’s environment, such as artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, blockchain and data analytics may provide new opportunities for fraudsters to take advantage of companies or consumers. For example: Fraudsters can easily produce a fake document, such as an account statement, to deceive others.
During this webinar we will look at Technology Advancements impact and challenges on Fraud detection and prevention.
