OVERVIEW
The African continent strives to achieve and maintain a positive balance of trade with individual states having a key role to play. Predominantly, Africa exports primary goods to its trade partners and heavily imports manufactured goods as the continent paces up to upscale industrial activities. Little value addition to the primary goods being exported from Africa have left it at a disadvantage on international trade earnings in comparison to the expenditure on imports. Formation of regional economic blocs within the continent have not fully achieved their desired intention as member states grapple with different challenges. What must the continent through its individual states do to benefit more from international trade? Does the continent have what it takes to negotiate at the global trade table? It is against this backdrop that ICPAK has organized this webinar to be held on 6th day of November 2020 starting 4.00pm to 5pm. Join us as we host Hon Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi to shed more light on how the African continent can benefit from the global trade through the right positioning.
