OVERVIEW
The foundation of good decision making is having the right information, especially financial information, this has been the global transition, where governments are moving from cash to an accrual basis for their financial reporting. Accrual accounting has been a common feature of budgeting and financial reporting requirements established for the commercially competitive parts of the public sector, generating interest in terms of its potential to contribute to improved public management and public sector performance. Accruals can benefit public sector organizations by providing information to improve the management of liabilities and allows governments to take decisions that support their objectives without burdening future generations with unmanageable debt. It is against this backdrop that ICPAK has organized the webinar to discuss the benefits of Accrual Accounting.
