1.0 Overview
It is important for Small and Medium Practices to keep abreast of current & emerging developments especially in technology, ethics and accountability. ICPAK has organized a one-day forum to induct new and upcoming practitioners in Small & Medium sized firms on matters that affect practice development. The forum will facilitate knowledge sharing, networking and exchange of ideas among audit and accounting practitioners in order to enable them to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in diverse areas of SMP development.
The workshop will prepare Small and Medium Practices for future success as a partner or sole practitioner. This workshop is designed to empower Small and Medium Practices with the practical business management skills, as well as a thorough grounding in the regulatory framework, required for managing a successful practice now and in the future.
Some of the areas to be covered include:
- Risk Management and limiting your liability
- Managing, Building & Growing your firm
- Audit techniques and tools for SMPs
Learning Objectives
- Awareness of current challenges in practice management and how to deal with them.
- Understanding of audit techniques and tools that can be used SMP.
- Gain the full spectrum of leadership skills to navigate today’s business world.
2.0 Target Audience
Aspiring and Current Audit Practitioners, Accounting Service Providers, interim managers, associate directors, Partners in Small Audit Firms, Staff in Audit Firms, Members and Associate members.
3.0 Charges:
The Charges will cover workshop materials, meals, and e-certificates of attendance is as provided under;

4.0 Continuous Professional Development Units
Members of ICPAK and those from other reciprocating professional bodies will earn 7 CPD units upon successfully attending all sessions.
5.0 Dress Code
- The workshop dress code is Business Formal or Business Professional
6.0 National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations. Remember that to qualify you should apply to NITA for approval prior to the date of the conference. Further details can be obtained from their website (www.nita.go.ke).
