THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)
Audit Quality Assurance – Nairobi
Venue: Sarova Panafric Hotel – Nairobi
Date: 8th – 9th August 2019
Time: 8.30am to 4pm
Brief
The audit field continues to evolve with practitioners having to keep up with client’s complex business practices, advanced technology as well as changing standards and regulations. Even in this context, practitioners have to give assurance on the credibility of financial statements to enhance stability of the country’s financial structures.
Leading professionals predict that the future of audit practice will be geared towards communication, transparency and adoption of radical technology. The IAASB developed the Framework for Audit Quality to raise awareness of key elements that contribute to the delivery of quality in all stages of an audit. Factors such as professional skepticism and group audits have emerged as enhancers of audit quality. The entrenchment of KAM as a tool to facilitate clear communication by auditors will further aid in elevating the audit reports into relevant, valuable and insightful documents for stakeholders.
As part of its mandate to promote the standards of professional competence and practice, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya is heavily invested in the quality of work delivered by practicing members. To this end, a two day workshop has been organized that will delve into topics such as:
- ISAE 3000 – Assurance Engagements Other than Audits or Reviews of Historical Financial Information
- A framework for Audit quality – Key elements that create an environment for Audit quality
- Identifying, Assessing and Reporting on Going Concern Issues
- ISA 540 (Revised), Auditing Accounting Estimates and Related Disclosures
- Employing technology in audit quality assurance
