THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)
Evening Talk
Theme: Developing Leadership and Governance Potential
Venue: Coast Branch Office, 2nd Floor Jubilee Arcade, Moi Avenue, Mombasa
Date: 5th December 2018
Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Overview
Leadership and governance are highly talked about concepts in Kenya, yet minimally understood. While we discuss them in many forums, pondering on best practices, there is little evidence of these concepts being employed effectively or having significant impact on private, public or civil organizations in the country.
Good leadership and governance integrates crucial elements such as strategic direction, proper regulation, plans and policies, motivation and effective oversight. Governance is concerned with the setting of policies, structures and systems with subsequent monitors for their proper implementation. On the other hand, leadership takes on a more personal sense of authority and responsibility over the accomplishment of the set strategies.
It is widely understood that proper stewardship is key to achieving success in any organization and should therefore be prioritized. Join us for this session which will seek to inspire you to focus intentionally on understanding and growing your leadership and governance potential as well as spur the demand and expectation for proper stewardship within the region.
