Theme: The Role of Professionals in Risk Management

1.0 Introduction
The corporate world is dynamic and thus the need for institutions to be vigilant on emerging risks. Every organization would wish to remain competitive and be on top of things in matters business continuity. Visionary institutions do not strive to eliminate risks or even minimize them, the focus is manage risk exposures within its units so that they incur the right kinds of risks to effectively pursue strategic goals.
Risk management as a field deals with identifying, assessing, responding to and reporting on the risks facing an organization. Since significant risks have financial implications, accountants as well as auditors play a vital role in risk management through evaluating risks, reporting on the impacts of materialization and advising the board of governance, among other roles.
ICPAK has organized this forum to interrogate the roles professionals play in risk management and to demystify the processes and expectations in risk management.

Members of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 3 CPD Units upon successfully attending all workshop sessions

8.0 National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations. Remember that to qualify you should apply to NITA for approval prior to the date of the conference. Further details can be obtained from their website (www.nita.go.ke).
