Essential Issues in Audit: A Practical Approach
Date: 15th – 16th February, 2018
Venue: PrideInn Hotel, Haile Sellasie Rd, Mombasa
Brief
The field of audit continues to evolve, as it should, in keeping up with the dynamic business world. The delivery of high calibre audits that inspire the confidence of all stakeholders should be the objective of every auditor. Fundamental to meeting this goal is auditor independence and integrity. However, those qualities are hardly enough to assure end users. Professional competence also has to be demonstrated and this is evident from the International Education Standard 8 on Professional Competence for Engagement Partners Responsible for Audits of Financial Statements (revised).
Another emerging trend in the profession is the increasing employ of technology. Nascent softwares and applications are finding their way into accounting practices and auditors must be keen to keep up with them. In seeking to widen the market, the modern day audit firm has also fashioned non-audit professional services to offer audit clients such as risk advisory and human resource consultancy.
These numerous changes present both challenges and opportunities for practitioners. With this in mind, ICPAK has organized the Essential Issues in Audit Workshop to provide an educative platform that will enable auditors to thrive in the prevailing circumstances.
