IFRS Workshop

1.0 Overview
This one-day Technical Workshop organized by ICPAK provides a rigorous and detailed overview of selected major technical IFRS requirements. The technical workshop is geared to take participants through the current changes in the reporting standards, adoption and challenges that may come about with the changes.
The workshop will be through presentation of illustrative practical examples in an interactive environment. Delegates will benefit from updates on major standard changes and their probable impact upon adoption.
1.1 Objectives
The specific training objectives will be as follows;

- Accounting treatment of borrowing costs under the revised IAS 23
- Key issues related to capitalization: qualifying assets, capitalization period and capitalization rate.

2.0 Target audience:
Chief Finance Officers (CFOs’), Finance Officers (FOs’), Finance professionals in the Public Sector (state agencies, County Government, parastatals among others), financial accountants, general accountants, auditors and other professionals responsible for preparing financial reports that complies with IFRS.

5.0 Continuous Professional Development Units
Members of ICPAK and other reciprocating professional bodies will earn 7 CPD points upon successfully attending the IFRS Workshop
6.0 National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations. Remember that to qualify you should apply to NITA for approval prior to the date of the conference. Further details can be obtained from their website (www.nita.go.ke).
